Tournament Information

58th Donald Ross Invitational

Dates: Thursday, June 20th through Saturday, June 22nd 2019 with a practice round on Wednesday, June 19th.

Field: Flights will be determined by the number of entrees according to USGA handicap index as of June 1st for all participants. Guests must have a USGA handicap index to be eligible to play in the invitational. Guests must also have eight scores entered from the previous 12 months prior to June 2019.  Indexes will be verified and handicaps reviewed by the committee.

Stag Night: Wednesday night, June 19th is Stag night. This is the only time to make your para-mutual bets. Gift pickup will be available after the practice round with dinner served at 7:00pm. Golf casual attire is appropriate. Each team will need to RSVP for Saturday night Awards Dinner on Wednesday for member/guest and spouses.

Pot O’Gold Raffle: Invitational participants only. The Pot O’Gold Raffle will be held on Stag night. Tickets can be reserved on the attached entry form (Charged at the end of the month that you sign up) or at the club office after June 1st (Cash only). The ticket price will be $125, limit two tickets per team until June 1st at which time additional tickets may be purchased. In addition, a bonus cash prize will be awarded during Saturday night’s post-tournament celebration.

Format:

  • Thursday: Team Best Ball / 0 hole requirement / 90% handicap – Shotgun Start
  • Friday: Chapman Format / 60% low handicap and high 40% high handicap – Shotgun Start
  • Saturday: Team Both Balls / 100% handicap – Shotgun Start
  • A Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used for all 3 days
  • A max score of net double bogey is used for the Modified Stableford Scoring

Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted via website no later than 5:00pm on April 30th, 2019. All applications must be FULLY COMPLETED.

Practice Round Priority: Practice round/mini tournament will have two waves. There will be an 8:30am shotgun for 16 teams along with tee times from 11:30am-1:30pm. Tee time spots will be limited and the same priority system for tournament entry will be used for the practice round.

Entry Fee: The entry fee will be $900 per team. There will be a $100 penalty for cancellations after June 1st, 2019. Entry fee includes: green fees for practice round and tournament; cart/base caddie fee for tournament; Wednesday night’s Stag Dinner; tournament gift; on-course – open bar during tournament; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday breakfast and lunch service; Heavy/Fancy Hors D’oeuvres at Saturday Post Tournament Celebration; and WGCC Classic “Donald Ross Trophy” to flight winners. Any entry received after the deadline will be charged a $50 processing fee.

Awards Party Flight winners will be awarded the “Donald Ross Trophy” at the post-tournament celebration Saturday night. Before the presentation, all flight winners will participate in a playoff to become the 2019 Donald Ross Invitational Overall Winner.

Heavy/Fancy Hors d’oeuvres included with cocktails by subscription. Dress code is country club casual. Each team will need to RSVP for Awards Dinner on Wednesday night for member/guest and spouses.
